Mykel Darrough​ a life-time Flint resident made history in January 2016 at the age of 28 by
becoming the youngest man to own a major league professional basketball franchise.
Mykel’s previous experience is in owning his own sports promotion company (Truly Grand
Sports Promotions LLC) that includes sports marketing and management. He was previously
general manager of ABA Chargers which was a semi-professional basketball organization in
Mid-Michigan. Mykel is heavily involved in the Flint community working with the youth at
WOW outreach program as sports program director. He has also partnered with the Warrior
Foundation in servicing the community through monthly water, food, and diaper distribution.
Mykel was a strong supporter of Mayor Karen Weaver during her campaign for Mayor.
